What's Happening with your Money?

Below are the fees that the SGA charges to its members. These fees pay for the operations that take place within the organization as a registered

non-profit. There are two types of fees. The first are mandatory fees and the second are optional fees that students can opt-out of. The type and amount of fees charged depends on student status; full-time or part-time. All of these fees are separate from the incidental fees that Laurentian University collects. The Laurentian University fees can be found by clicking the link below.

Full-Time Fees

Student Centre

Access to a variety of amenities including a VIP members only area, study rooms, game equipment, space for clubs, lounge areas, and more!

Advocacy

Supports SGA/AGE advocacy measures for students and their needs locally, provincially, and nationally.

Clubs Support Fee

Supports SGA/AGE ratified clubs through providing funding, structure, and outreach services.

ISC – Indigenous Students Circle

Supports the Indigenous Student Circle. The ISC's mission is to ensure a positive and unique experience for students of First Nation, Metis and Inuit ancestry.

SGA Administration

Supports the corporate and governance structures of the SGA/AGE, and the administration of the different services, initiatives, and operations.

Food Bank

Funds the SGA/AGE Food Bank, an emergency service providing access to non-perishable food and hygiene products for students in urgent need.

Student Life*

Optional Fee: Allows the SGA/AGE to offer events and activities to students designed to enhance student experience, foster a sense of community, and promote student engagement.

Health & Dental Plan

Provides a comprehensive health plan, designed each year with students in mind, that covers prescriptions, dental, vision and more from September to August of each year.​

U-Pass

Provides unlimited access to the GOVA transit service with your student card from September to April each year. 

Student Initiative Fee*

Optional Fee: Provides financial support for student-led projects that expand student life or student services on campus.
